Engage with the parents/carers:

Graduate Proficient Highly Accomplished Lead
Understand strategies for working effectively, sensitively and confidentially with parents/carers. Establish and maintain respectful collaborative relationships with parents/ carers regarding their children’s learning and wellbeing. Demonstrate responsiveness in all communications with parents/carers about their children’s learning and wellbeing. Identify, initiate and build on opportunities that engage parents/carers in both the progress of their children’s learning and in the educational priorities of the school.

I have been able to engage parents in the educative process whilst establishing and maintaining respectful collaborative relationships with them regarding their children’s learning and well-being. These opportunities for parent engagement have included but are not limited to phone calls home about progress, including positive and negative reasons and parent/teacher interviews in which the progress and behaviour of the students has been discussed at length. I have also encouraged certain parents to attend school sporting carnivals in order to witness their students progress first hand.
